यदाश्रयादवष्टब्धा नेयं मामुपतिष्ठति ।
सोऽस्या भर्ता सह भ्रात्रा निरस्तो रणमूर्धनि ॥६-४७-८॥
yadāśrayādavaṣṭabdhā neyaṃ māmupatiṣṭhati |
so'syā bhartā saha bhrātrā nirasto raṇamūrdhani ॥6-47-8॥
Translation
Relying on whose support she proudly refuses to submit to me, that husband of hers, along with his brother, has been struck down at the forefront of the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिसके आश्रय के गर्व में यह मेरे पास नहीं आती (मुझे स्वीकार नहीं करती), उसका वह पति भाई सहित युद्ध के मुहाने पर मारा गया है।
English Commentary
Ravana here acknowledges that Sita's strength and resistance are rooted in the existence of Shri Rama. He believes that with Shri Rama gone, Sita's pride (in her chastity) will crumble. This reflects the narrow mindset of a villain who views love only through the lens of power.

रावण यहाँ स्वीकार करता है कि सीता का आत्मबल और प्रतिरोध श्री राम के अस्तित्व पर आधारित है। उसे लगता है कि श्री राम के न रहने पर सीता का गर्व (पातिव्रत्य का अभिमान) टूट जाएगा। यह दुष्ट की संकीर्ण सोच है जो प्रेम को केवल शक्ति के संदर्भ में देखता है।
