परिदेवयमानां तां राक्षसी त्रिजटाब्रवीत् ।
मा विषादं कृथा देवि भर्तायं तव जीवति ॥६-४८-२२॥
paridevayamānāṃ tāṃ rākṣasī trijaṭābravīt |
mā viṣādaṃ kṛthā devi bhartāyaṃ tava jīvati ॥6-48-22॥
Translation
To her who was lamenting thus, the demoness Trijata said, 'O Goddess! Do not grieve. This husband of yours is alive.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार विलाप करती हुई उस (सीता) से राक्षसी त्रिजटा ने कहा—'हे देवि! विषाद (शोक) मत करो। तुम्हारे ये पति जीवित हैं।'
English Commentary
Trijata, the benevolent Rakshasi, intervenes. She breaks the spell of despair with the truth: 'Your husband is alive.' Addressing Sita as 'Devi' shows her respect. Trijata serves as the voice of reason and hope amidst the illusion, representing the presence of good even within evil Lanka.

त्रिजटा, जो सीता की शुभचिंतक राक्षसी थी, हस्तक्षेप करती है। वह सीता को सांत्वना देती है कि श्री राम मरे नहीं हैं। 'भर्तायं तव जीवति' (तुम्हारे पति जीवित हैं)—यह वाक्य संजीवनी बूटी के समान है। त्रिजटा का पात्र शत्रु के घर में भी मित्र और धर्म के अस्तित्व का प्रतीक है।
