कथं वक्ष्यामि शत्रुघ्नं भरतं च यशस्विनम् ।
मया सह वनं यातो विना तेन गतः पुनः ॥६-४९-१०॥
kathaṃ vakṣyāmi śatrughnaṃ bharataṃ ca yaśasvinam |
mayā saha vanaṃ yāto vinā tena gataḥ punaḥ ॥6-49-10॥
Translation
How shall I tell the illustrious Bharata and Shatrughna that he went to the forest with me, but I have returned without him?
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं यशस्वी भरत और शत्रुघ्न से क्या कहूँगा कि वह मेरे साथ वन गया था और मैं उसके बिना ही लौट आया हूँ?
English Commentary
Shri Rama fears the questions of His younger brothers. Shri Lakshmana's love for Bharata and Shatrughna was also matchless. This verse showcases the high ideal of brotherhood where the loss of one brother is irreparable for the entire family. This dilemma reinforces Shri Rama's truthful and responsible character.

श्री राम को अपने छोटे भाइयों के प्रश्नों का भय है। भरत और शत्रुघ्न के प्रति लक्ष्मण जी का प्रेम भी अतुलनीय था। यह श्लोक भाईचारे के उस उच्च आदर्श को दिखाता है जहाँ एक भाई की क्षति पूरे परिवार के लिए अपूरणीय है। श्री राम की यह दुविधा उनके सत्यवादी और उत्तरदायी चरित्र को पुष्ट करती है।
