Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सर्वे ते वानरश्रेष्ठाः ससुग्रीवा महाबलाः ।
परिवार्य महात्मानौ तस्थुः शोकपरिप्लुताः ॥६-४९-२॥
sarve te vānaraśreṣṭhāḥ sasugrīvā mahābalāḥ |
parivārya mahātmānau tasthuḥ śokapariplutāḥ ॥6-49-2॥
Translation
All those mighty and excellent Vanaras, including Sugriva, stood surrounding the two high-souled brothers, deeply immersed in grief.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुग्रीव सहित वे सभी महाबली श्रेष्ठ वानर, उन दोनों महात्माओं को चारों ओर से घेरकर अत्यंत शोक में निमग्न होकर खड़े हो गए।
English Commentary
The Vanara army is stunned to see their protector and deity in this condition. The act of Sugriva and the other generals surrounding the brothers demonstrates both their unwavering loyalty and their current helplessness. This verse highlights the deep emotional bond between the devotee and the Lord. The strength of the Vanaras is silenced as the very foundation of their leadership is in peril.

अपने आराध्य और रक्षक को इस अवस्था में देखकर वानर सेना हतप्रभ है। सुग्रीव और अन्य सेनापतियों का उन्हें घेरकर खड़ा होना उनकी निष्ठा और विवशता दोनों को दर्शाता है। यह श्लोक भक्त और भगवान के भावनात्मक सम्बन्ध को प्रकट करता है। वानरों का बल यहाँ मौन है क्योंकि उनके नेतृत्व का आधार ही संकट में है।
