आश्वासितो लक्ष्मणेन रामः सम्ध्याम् उपासत ।
स्मरन् कमल पत्र अक्षीम् सीताम् शोक आकुली कृतः ॥६-५-२३॥
āśvāsito lakṣmaṇena rāmaḥ sandhyāmupāsta । smaran kamalapatrākṣo sītāṃ śokākulīkṛtaḥ ॥6-5-23॥
Translation
Consoled by Lakshmana, the lotus-eyed Shri Rama performed the evening prayers (Sandhya), remembering Sita even while overwhelmed by grief.
हिंदी अनुवाद
लक्ष्मण द्वारा आश्वासन दिए जाने पर, कमल नयन श्री राम ने शोक से व्याकुल होते हुए भी, सीता का स्मरण करते हुए संध्या-उपासना की।
English Commentary
Duty amidst despair. The sarga ends with Shri Rama performing his daily religious duty ('sandhyam upasta'). Even in deep depression, the Aryan code of conduct is followed. However, the prayer is intertwined with the memory of Sita, blending the sacred with the personal.
हिंदी टीका
कर्तव्य और प्रेम का संतुलन। शोक के चरम पर भी श्री राम अपना धार्मिक कर्तव्य ('संध्या-उपासना') नहीं छोड़ते। लक्ष्मण उन्हें संभालते हैं। पूजा करते समय भी सीता का स्मरण ('स्मरन्') जारी है, जो दर्शाता है कि सीता उनके धर्म का अभिन्न अंग हैं।
