वाहि वात यतः कन्या ताम् स्पृष्ट्वा माम् अपि स्पृश ।
त्वयि मे गात्र सम्स्पर्शः चन्द्रे दृष्टि समागमः ॥६-५-६॥
vāhi vāta yataḥ kāntā tāṃ spṛṣṭvā māmapi spṛśa । tvayi me gātrasaṃsparśaścandre dṛṣṭisamāgamaḥ ॥6-5-6॥
Translation
Blow, O Wind, from where my beloved is; having touched her, touch me too. Through you I get the touch of her body, just as in the moon I get the meeting of our eyes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे वायु! जिधर मेरी कान्ता है, उधर से बहते हुए उसे छूकर मुझे भी स्पर्श करो। तुम्हारे द्वारा (लाया गया) उसका अंग-स्पर्श और चन्द्रमा में दृष्टि-समागम (ही मेरा सहारा है)।
English Commentary
Classic romantic imagery. Shri Rama seeks a physical connection through the element of Wind ('Vata'), asking it to carry Sita's touch to him. He also notes the visual connection through the Moon—since both gaze at the same moon, their eyes metaphorically meet ('drishtisamagamah'). This reflects the universal longing of separated lovers.

यह 'मेघदूत' जैसी काव्य-भावना है। श्री राम वायु को दूत और माध्यम बनाते हैं। चूँकि वायु सर्वत्र है, वह सीता को छूकर श्री राम को छू सकती है। इसी प्रकार, दोनों एक ही चंद्रमा को देख रहे हैं ('दृष्टिसमागम'), जो उनके बीच एकमात्र संपर्क सूत्र है। यह विरह की पराकाष्ठा है।
