Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अवगाह्य अर्णवम् स्वप्स्ये सौमित्रे भवता विना ।
कथम्चित् प्रज्वलन् कामः समासुप्तम् जले दहेत् ॥६-५-९॥
avagāhyārṇavaṃ svapsye saumitre bhavatā vinā । kathaṃciprajvalan kāmo na māṃ suptaṃ jale dahet ॥6-5-9॥
Translation
O Sumitra's son! I shall dive into the ocean and sleep without you. Perhaps this burning passion will not burn me while I sleep in the water.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सौमित्र (लक्ष्मण)! मैं तुम्हें छोड़कर समुद्र में डुबकी लगाकर सो जाऊँगा। शायद जल में सोए हुए मुझको यह प्रज्वलित काम नहीं जलाएगा।
English Commentary
Desperation for relief. The heat of separation is so intense that Shri Rama fantasizes about submerging himself in the ocean to cool down. It expresses extreme distress where the physical sensation of burning demands a physical remedy (water). It's a poetic expression of seeking oblivion from pain.

श्री राम की व्याकुलता चरम पर है। वे जलती हुई अग्नि (विरह) को शांत करने के लिए ठंडे समुद्र में सोना चाहते हैं। यह आत्महत्या का विचार नहीं, बल्कि पीड़ा से मुक्ति पाने की छटपटाहट है। वे लक्ष्मण से कहते हैं 'भवता विना' (तुम्हारे बिना), जो उनकी एकाकीपन की चाह को दर्शाता है।
