तेषां सुतुमुलं शब्दं वानराणां तरस्विनाम् ।
नदतां राक्षसैः सार्धं तदा शुश्राव रावणः ॥६-५१-१॥
teṣāṃ sutumulaṃ śabdaṃ vānarāṇāṃ tarasvinām |
nardatāṃ rākṣasaiḥ sārdhaṃ tadā śuśrāva rāvaṇaḥ ॥6-51-1॥
Translation
Then, Ravana heard the very tumultuous sound of the swift monkeys roaring along with the Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब रावण ने राक्षसों के साथ गर्जना करते हुए उन वेगवान वानरों का अत्यंत कोलाहलपूर्ण (सुतुमुल) शब्द सुना।
English Commentary
This verse sets the scene in Ravana's assembly. Following the liberation of Shri Rama and Lakshmana from the Nagapasha, the Vanara army erupts in joy. Their roar, described as 'sutumulam' (very tumultuous), penetrates Ravana's palace. Hearing them roar 'along with the Rakshasas' signifies the ongoing battle noise, but the dominance of the Vanara sound alerts Ravana that the situation has shifted against him.

यह श्लोक रावण की सभा का दृश्य प्रस्तुत करता है। जब श्री राम और लक्ष्मण नागपाश से मुक्त हो गए, तो वानर सेना में खुशी की लहर दौड़ गई। उनकी गर्जना इतनी तीव्र थी कि वह रावण के महल तक पहुँच गई। 'राक्षसैः सार्धं' (राक्षसों के साथ) का अर्थ है कि युद्ध का कोलाहल मिश्रित था, लेकिन वानरों का स्वर प्रबल था। यह रावण के लिए खतरे की घंटी थी, क्योंकि उसने सोचा था कि शत्रु नेतृत्वहीन हो चुका है।
