घोरैर्दत्तवरैर्बद्धौ शरैराशीविषोपमैः ।
अमोघैः सूर्यसङ्काशैः प्रमथ्येन्द्रजिता युधि ॥६-५१-१४॥
tacchrutvā vacanaṃ teṣāṃ rākṣasendro mahābalaḥ |
cintāśokasamākrānto viṣaṇṇavadano'bravīt ॥6-51-14॥
Translation
Hearing their words, the mighty Lord of Rakshasas became overcome with anxiety and grief, and with a dejected face, he spoke.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनके उस वचन को सुनकर महाबली राक्षसराज (रावण) चिंता और शोक से घिर गया और उदास मुख होकर बोला।
English Commentary
The news hits Ravana hard. He is 'samakrantah' (overpowered) by worry and grief. For the first time, the 'mahabala' (mighty one) seems vulnerable. His dejection stems from the realization that his most potent weapon has failed, leaving him strategically exposed.
हिंदी टीका
समाचार सुनकर रावण 'चिन्ताशोकसमाक्रान्तः' (चिंता और शोक से ग्रस्त) हो गया। उसका आत्मविश्वास हिल गया। 'महाबल' होते हुए भी वह मानसिक रूप से आहत हुआ। उसका चेहरा 'विषण्ण' (उदास) हो गया, जो उसकी हताशा को दर्शाता है।
