Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रयान्तं तु महाघोरं राक्षसं भीमविक्रमम् ।
अन्तरिक्षगता घोराः शकुनाः प्रत्यवारयन् ॥६-५१-२९॥
sa niryāto mahāvīryo dhūmrākṣo rākṣasairvṛtaḥ |
prahasan paścimadvāraṃ hanūmān yatra yūthapaḥ ॥6-51-29॥
Translation
Surrounded by Rakshasas, that mighty Dhumraksha went out laughing through the Western Gate, where the commander Hanuman was.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसों से घिरा हुआ वह महावीर्यवान धूम्राक्ष, हंसता हुआ पश्चिमी द्वार से निकला, जहाँ यूथपति हनुमान (तैनात) थे।
English Commentary
Dhumraksha heads for the Western Gate, laughing confidently ('prahasan'). He is on a collision course with Hanuman. The juxtaposition of his laughter with the presence of Hanuman (the one who burnt Lanka) sets up an intense confrontation. It foreshadows the clash of titans.

धूम्राक्ष पश्चिमी द्वार की ओर गया। वह 'प्रहसन्' (हंसता हुआ) निकला, जो उसके अति-आत्मविश्वास को दिखाता है। वहां उसका सामना हनुमान से होना था। (नोट: पिछले सर्ग में पश्चिमी द्वार पर सुषेण थे, शायद हनुमान भी वहां सहायता के लिए थे या धूम्राक्ष ने दिशा बदली)।
