यथा ऽसौ सम्प्रहृष्टानां वानराणां समुत्थितः ।
बहूनां सुमहानादो मेघानामिव गर्जताम् ।
व्यक्तं सुमहती प्रीतिरेतेषां नात्र संशयः ॥६-५१-३॥
yathāsau saṃprahṛṣṭānāṃ vānarāṇāṃ samutthitaḥ |
bahūnāṃ sumahānādo meghānāmiva garjanā ॥6-51-3॥
Translation
'Just as this great roar of many highly delighted monkeys has arisen, resembling the thunder of clouds...'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'जैसे यह बादलों की गर्जना के समान, बहुत से अत्यंत प्रसन्न वानरों का महान नाद (शोर) उठ रहा है...'
English Commentary
Ravana compares the collective roar to 'meghanam garjana' (thunder of clouds), indicating its power and volume. He specifically notes they are 'samprahrishtanam' (highly delighted). This observation confirms his fear that the tide of battle has turned, contradicting the earlier report of Indrajit's victory.

रावण उपमा देता है—'मेघानामिव गर्जना' (बादलों की गरज जैसा)। यह शोर किसी हारी हुई सेना का नहीं हो सकता। 'सम्प्रहृष्टानाम्' (अत्यंत प्रसन्न) विशेषण बताता है कि वानर किसी बड़ी जीत या शुभ समाचार का जश्न मना रहे हैं।
