Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सन्त्रस्तहृदयाः सर्वे प्राकारादवरुह्य ते ।
विषण्णवदना घोरा राक्षसेन्द्रमुपस्थिताः ॥६-५१-९॥
tau ca muktau sughoreṇa śarabandhena rāghavau |
samutthitau mahāvegau viṣaṇṇaḥ prekṣya rākṣasāḥ ॥6-51-9॥
Translation
And seeing those two Raghavas released from the terrible bond of arrows and risen up with great energy/speed, the Rakshasas became despondent.
हिंदी अनुवाद
और उन दोनों राघव (श्री राम-लक्ष्मण) को अत्यंत भयानक बाणों के बंधन (शरबंध) से मुक्त हुआ तथा महान वेग वाले (स्वस्थ) होकर उठे हुए देखकर राक्षस विषाद (दुख) से भर गए।
English Commentary
The spies confirm Ravana's worst fear. Shri Rama and Lakshmana are not only alive but 'muktau' (freed) from the dreaded bond and 'samutthitau' (risen/active). Seeing them 'mahavegau' (full of vigor) plunges the Rakshasas into 'vishanna' (gloom), realizing their enemy possesses powers beyond their understanding.

राक्षसों ने अकल्पनीय दृश्य देखा—श्री राम और लक्ष्मण 'मुक्तौ' (मुक्त) हैं और 'समुत्थितौ' (उठ खड़े हुए) हैं। 'सुघोरेण शरबन्धेन' (भयानक नागपाश) का विफल होना उनके लिए वज्रपात था। वे 'विषण्णः' (दुखी/हताश) हो गए, क्योंकि उनकी सबसे बड़ी जीत हार में बदल गई थी।
