Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पार्श्वेषु दारिताः केचित् केचिद्राशीकृता द्रुमैः ।
शिलाभिश्चूर्णिताः केचित् केचिद्दन्तैर्विदारिताः ॥६-५२-११॥
vavamū rudhiraṃ kecinmukhai rudhirabhojanāḥ |
pārśveṣu dāritāḥ kecidkecidrāśīkṛtā drumaīḥ ॥6-52-11॥
Translation
Some Rakshasas, who usually feed on blood, began to vomit blood from their mouths. Some were torn at their sides and some were piled up (crushed) under the trees.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रक्त का आहार करने वाले कुछ राक्षस अपने मुख से रक्त वमन करने लगे। कुछ के पार्श्व (पसलियाँ) फट गए और कुछ वृक्षों के नीचे दबकर ढेर हो गए।
English Commentary
Through the term 'Rudhirabhojanah' (blood-eaters), Sage Valmiki employs irony—those who fed on the blood of others are now vomiting their own blood. This is a symbolic depiction of 'Karma-phala' (the fruit of actions). The physical plight of the Rakshasas is the direct result of their sins and their transgressions against Shri Rama.

यहाँ 'रुधिरभोजनाः' शब्द के माध्यम से महर्षि वाल्मीकि ने एक व्यंग्य किया है—जो दूसरों का रक्त पीते थे, वे आज अपना ही रक्त उगल रहे हैं। यह 'कर्म-फल' का सांकेतिक चित्रण है। राक्षसों की शारीरिक दुर्दशा उनके पापों और श्री राम के प्रति उनके अपराधों का परिणाम है।
