गजेन्द्रैः पर्वताकारैः पर्वताग्रैर्वनौकसाम् ।
मथितैर्वाजिभिः कीर्णं सारोहैर्वसुधातलम् ॥६-५२-१३॥
rathaīrvidhvaṃsitaīścāpi patitaī rajanīcaraīḥ |
gajendraīḥ parvatākāraīḥ parvatāgraīrvanaukasām ॥6-52-13॥
Translation
With destroyed chariots, fallen Rakshasas, and mountain-like elephants crushed by the mountain-peaks thrown by the Vanaras—

नष्ट हुए रथों, गिरे हुए राक्षसों और वानरों द्वारा पहाड़ की चोटियों से कुचले गए पर्वत के समान विशाल हाथियों से—
English Commentary
This verse presents a scene of widespread destruction on the battlefield. Elephants are compared to mountains, which the Vanaras destroyed using actual mountain peaks ('Parvatagra'). This is a strategic 'like against like' combat. The destruction of the Rakshasas' most powerful units (elephants) in this manner is a clear harbinger of their defeat.

यह श्लोक युद्ध भूमि के व्यापक विनाश का दृश्य उपस्थित करता है। हाथियों की तुलना पर्वतों से की गई है, जिन्हें वानरों ने पर्वत शिखर (पर्वताग्र) से ही नष्ट कर दिया। यह 'लोहे को लोहे से काटने' जैसी युद्ध नीति है। राक्षसों के सबसे शक्तिशाली अंगों (हाथियों) का इस प्रकार अंत होना उनकी हार की स्पष्ट सूचना है।
