प्रासैः प्रमथिताः केचिद्वानराः शोणितस्रवाः ।
मुद्गरैराहताः केचित् पतिता धरणीतले ॥६-५२-१९॥
sainyaṃ tu vidrutaṃ dṛṣṭvā dhūmrākṣo rākṣasarṣabhaḥ |
krodhena kadanaṃ cakre vānarāṇāṃ yuyutsatām ॥6-52-19॥
Translation
Seeing his army fleeing, Dhumraksha, the foremost of Rakshasas, began a slaughter of the fighting Vanaras in his anger.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपनी सेना को भागते हुए देख राक्षसों में श्रेष्ठ धूम्राक्ष ने क्रोध में भरकर युद्ध करने वाले वानरों का संहार करना आरम्भ किया।
English Commentary
Dhumraksha's personal intervention is an attempt to stabilize his failing army. 'Kadanam chakre' (conducted a slaughter) shows he is a highly skilled and cruel warrior. It is a general's responsibility to lead his forces during a crisis, and Dhumraksha is fulfilling that role here.

धूम्राक्ष का स्वयं युद्ध में उतरना उसकी सेना की गिरती स्थिति को संभालने का प्रयास है। 'कदनं चक्रे' (संहार करना) यह दर्शाता है कि वह एक अत्यंत कुशल और क्रूर योद्धा है। एक सेनापति का उत्तरदायित्व है कि वह विपत्ति में अपनी सेना का नेतृत्व करे, और धूम्राक्ष यहाँ वही कर रहा है।
