तेषां सुतुमुलं युद्धं सञ्जज्ञे हरिरक्षसाम् ।
अन्योन्यं पादपैर्घोरं निघ्नतां शूलमुद्गरैः ॥६-५२-२॥
teṣāṃ sutumulaṃ yuddhaṃ saṃjajñe harirakṣasām |
anyonyaṃ pādapairghoraṃ nighnatāṃ śūlamudgaraiḥ ॥6-52-2॥
Translation
A very tumultuous battle broke out between those Vanaras and Rakshasas, in which they struck each other fiercely with trees, spears, and maces.

उन वानरों और राक्षसों के बीच अत्यंत भयंकर युद्ध छिड़ गया, जिसमें वे एक-दूसरे पर वृक्षों, शूलों और मुदगरों से भीषण प्रहार कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
This verse directly describes the ferocity of the combat. The Vanaras utilize natural resources like trees ('Padapa'), while the Rakshasas use forged weapons like spears and maces ('Shula-mudgara'). This conflict underscores the clash between the children of nature and the powers of artificial artifice. The intensity of the battle is emphasized by the term 'Sutumulam' (extremely tumultuous).
