Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
विभिन्नहृदयाः केचिदेकपार्श्वेन दारिताः ।
विदारिता स्त्रिशूलैश्च केचिदान्त्रैर्विनिःसृताः ॥६-५२-२२॥
kecidvinihatāḥ śūlai rudhirārdrā vanaukasaḥ |
kecidvidrāvitā naṣṭāḥ sabalaī rākṣasaīryudhi ॥6-52-22॥
Translation
Some forest-dwellers (Vanaras) were killed by tridents and were drenched in blood. Some were scattered and perished before the strength of the Rakshasas in battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुछ वानर शूलों से मारे जाकर रक्त से भीग गए। कुछ वानर राक्षसों के बल के सामने युद्ध से भाग गए या नष्ट हो गए।
English Commentary
The tide of the battle has begun to turn. The organized strength of the Rakshasas is now overwhelming the Vanaras. The word 'Vidravita' (scattered/made to flee) shows that the discipline of the Vanara army was breaking. This is the moment that necessitates the intervention of a great hero.

युद्ध की स्थिति अब पलटने लगी है। राक्षसों का संगठित बल अब वानरों पर भारी पड़ रहा है। 'विद्राविता' (भगा देना) शब्द यह दर्शाता है कि वानर सेना का अनुशासन भंग हो रहा था। यह वह क्षण है जहाँ एक महान नायक के हस्तक्षेप की आवश्यकता है।
