Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तत्सुभीमं महायुद्धं हरिराक्षससङ्कुलम् ।
प्रबभौ शब्दबहुलं शिलापादपसङ्कुलम् ॥६-५२-२३॥
vibhinna hṛdayāḥ kecidekapārśvena dāritāḥ |
vidāritāstriśūlaīśca kecidāntraīrviniḥsṛtaīḥ ॥6-52-23॥
Translation
Some had their hearts split, some were torn at one side, and some were so pierced by tridents that their intestines came out.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कुछ के हृदय फट गए, कुछ एक ओर से चीर दिए गए और कुछ त्रिशूलों से इस प्रकार विदीर्ण हुए कि उनकी अंतड़ियाँ बाहर निकल आईं।
English Commentary
This is an extremely gruesome and heart-wrenching scene. The phrase 'Antrair vinihsritaih' (intestines spilling out) depicts the terrible cruelty of war where physical integrity is shattered. Sage Valmiki shows no softness here, as he is depicting the naked reality of the battlefield.

यह अत्यंत वीभत्स और हृदयविदारक दृश्य है। 'आन्त्रैर्विनिःसृतैः' शब्द युद्ध की उस भयंकर क्रूरता को दर्शाता है जहाँ शरीर के अंग भी सुरक्षित नहीं रहते। वाल्मीकि जी ने यहाँ कोई कोमलता नहीं दिखाई है, क्योंकि वे युद्ध की नग्न वास्तविकता का चित्रण कर रहे हैं।
