Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
धनुर्ज्यातन्त्रिमधुरं हिक्कातालसमन्वितम् ।
मन्दस्तनितसङ्गीतं युद्धगान्धर्वमाबभौ ॥६-५२-२४॥
tatsubhīmaṃ mahāyuddhaṃ harirākṣasasaṃkulam |
prababhau śabdabahulaṃ śilāpādapasaṃkulam ॥6-52-24॥
Translation
That great battle crowded with Vanaras and Rakshasas, filled with much noise and thick with rocks and trees, appeared extremely terrifying.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह वानरों और राक्षसों से भरा हुआ महायुद्ध, जिसमें बहुत शोर था और जो शिलाओं तथा वृक्षों से संकुल (व्याप्त) था, अत्यंत भयंकर प्रतीत होने लगा।
English Commentary
The battle is now at its peak. The term 'Shabdabahulam' encapsulates the uproar of war—the screams of warriors, the clang of weapons, and the trumpeting of elephants. The presence of rocks and trees everywhere indicates that the battlefield has turned into a wasteland of debris.

युद्ध अब अपने चरम पर है। 'शब्दबहुलं' शब्द युद्ध के कोलाहल—योद्धाओं की चीखें, शस्त्रों की टंकार और हाथियों की चिंघाड़—को संकलित करता है। शिलाओं और वृक्षों का सर्वत्र होना यह बताता है कि रणभूमि अब एक मलबे के ढेर में बदल चुकी है।
