धूम्राक्षेणार्दितं सैन्यं व्यथितं दृश्य मारुतिः ।
अभ्यवर्तत सङ्क्रुद्धः प्रगृह्य विपुलां शिलाम् ॥६-५२-२६॥
dhūmrākṣastu dhanuṣpāṇirvānarān raṇamūrdhani |
hasan vidrāvayāmāsa diśastu śaravṛṣṭibhiḥ ॥6-52-26॥
Translation
Dhumraksha, with bow in hand, laughing, scattered the Vanaras in all directions with showers of arrows at the head of the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हाथ में धनुष लिए धूम्राक्ष ने युद्ध के अग्रभाग में हंसते हुए बाणों की वर्षा से वानरों को सभी दिशाओं में भगा दिया।
English Commentary
Dhumraksha's laughter reflects his arrogance and contempt for his enemies. He is enjoying the helpless state of the Vanaras. The shower of arrows ('Shara-vrishti') is so intense that the Vanaras cannot hold their ground. From here, a new turn in the battle begins where Shri Hanuman's intervention becomes mandatory.

धूम्राक्ष का 'हसना' उसके अहंकार और शत्रुओं के प्रति तुच्छ भाव को दर्शाता है। वह वानरों की असहाय अवस्था का आनंद ले रहा है। बाण-वर्षा (शरवृष्टि) इतनी तीव्र है कि वानर टिक नहीं पा रहे। यहाँ से युद्ध का एक नया मोड़ आरम्भ होता है जहाँ श्री हनुमान जी का हस्तक्षेप अनिवार्य हो जाता है।
