सा प्रमथ्य रथं तस्य निपपात शिला भुवि ।
सचक्रकूबरं साश्वं सध्वजं सशरासनम् ॥६-५२-२९॥
āpatantīṃ śilāṃ dṛṣṭvā gadāmudyamya saṃbhramāt |
rathādāplutya vegena vasudhāyāṃ vyatiṣṭhata ॥6-52-29॥
Translation
Seeing the rock falling toward him, Dhumraksha raised his mace in confusion, leaped quickly from the chariot, and stood on the ground.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपनी ओर आती हुई शिला को देख, धूम्राक्ष ने घबराहट में गदा उठा ली और रथ से तेजी से कूदकर भूमि पर खड़ा हो गया।
English Commentary
Dhumraksha's 'Sambhramat' (confusion/alarm) proves how terrifying Shri Hanuman's strike was. For a warrior, abandoning his chariot is like sacrificing his safety. Shri Hanuman forced him out of his defensive position. The nature of the combat will now shift to wrestling or a duel with maces.

धूम्राक्ष की 'संभ्रमात्' (घबराहट) यह सिद्ध करती है कि हनुमान जी का प्रहार कितना भयानक था। एक योद्धा के लिए रथ छोड़ना अपनी सुरक्षा का त्याग करने जैसा है। हनुमान जी ने उसे अपनी रक्षात्मक स्थिति से बाहर निकलने पर विवश कर दिया। अब युद्ध का स्वरूप मल्ल-युद्ध या गदा-युद्ध में बदल जाएगा।
