निस्सृता दक्षिणद्वारादङ्गदो यत्र यूथपः ।
तेषां निष्क्रममाणानामशुभं समजायत ॥६-५३-१३॥
niḥsṛtā dakṣiṇadvārādaṅgado yatra yūthapaḥ |
teṣāṃ niṣkramamāṇānāmaśubhaṃ samajāyata ॥6-53-13॥
Translation
They exited from the Southern Gate where the commander Angada was stationed. As they were marching out, ill omens occurred.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे उस दक्षिण द्वार से निकले जहाँ यूथपति अंगद तैनात थे। उनके निकलते समय अमंगल (अपशकुन) होने लगा।
English Commentary
The South is considered the direction of Yama (Death). Angada, who would become a key cause of Ravana's destruction, was stationed there. The ill omens foreshadow the impending doom.
हिंदी टीका
दक्षिण दिशा यम (मृत्यु) की दिशा मानी जाती है। अंगद, जो रावण के विनाश का एक प्रमुख कारण बनने वाले हैं, वहीं तैनात थे। अपशकुन विनाश की पूर्वसूचना देते हैं।
