खड्गैश्चक्रैर्गदाभिश्च निशितैश्च परश्वधैः ।
पदातयश्च निर्यान्ति विविधाः शस्त्रपाणयः ॥ ६.५३.९ ॥ विचित्रवाससः सर्वे दीप्ता राक्षसपुङ्गवाः ॥ ॥६-५३-९॥
khaḍgaiścakrairgadābhiśca niśitaiśca paraśvadhaiḥ |
padātayaśca niryānti vividhāḥ śastrapāṇayaḥ ॥6-53-9॥
Translation
...and with swords, discs, maces, and sharp axes in hand, various foot soldiers also marched out.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...तथा खड्गों (तलवारों), चक्रों, गदाओं और तीखे फरसों को हाथों में लिए हुए विविध प्रकार के पैदल सैनिक भी निकले।
English Commentary
The description of the four-limbed army is complete. The infantry carried deadly weapons suited for close combat.

चतुरंगिणी सेना का वर्णन पूर्ण होता है। पैदल सैनिकों के पास निकट युद्ध (close combat) के लिए घातक हथियार थे।
