त्रस्ताः सर्वे हरिगणाः शरैः सङ्कृत्तकन्धराः ।
अङ्गदं सम्प्रधावन्ति प्रजापतिमिव प्रजाः ॥६-५४-१६॥
aṅgadaṃ saṃpradhāvanti prajāpatimiva prajā |
tato harigaṇān bhagnān dṛṣṭvā vālisutastadā ॥6-54-16॥
Translation
As living beings rush to the Lord of Creation (Prajapati) for protection, the monkeys ran towards Angada. Then, the son of Vali saw the monkey troops broken and fleeing.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जैसे प्रजा भयभीत होकर प्रजापति (ब्रह्मा/रक्षक) की शरण में जाती है, वैसे ही वे वानर अंगद की ओर दौड़े। तब वालिपुत्र अंगद ने वानर सेना को भंग होते देखा।
English Commentary
This verse elevates Angada's stature significantly. Comparing him to 'Prajapati' (the Lord of Creation/Protector) implies that for the Vanaras, Angada was the ultimate refuge and savior. It highlights his leadership and the trust his soldiers placed in him. Seeing his army 'broken' ('bhagnan'), Angada realizes that the time for general command is over and personal intervention is required to save his people.

विपत्ति के समय रक्षक की याद आती है। यहाँ वानरों का अंगद के प्रति विश्वास दर्शाया गया है। उपमा अत्यंत सुंदर है—'प्रजापतिमिव प्रजा'—जैसे सृष्टि अपने रचयिता और रक्षक पर भरोसा करती है, वैसे ही वानर अंगद को अपना त्राता मानते थे। अंगद, जो वालि के पुत्र हैं और युवराज हैं, ने अपनी सेना की इस दुर्दशा (भग्नान्) को देखा। एक सच्चे नायक के रूप में, उन्हें अब अपने आश्रितों की रक्षा के लिए हस्तक्षेप करना था।
