स विस्फार्य धनुर्घोरं शक्राशनिसमस्वनम् ।
वानराणामनीकानि प्राकिरच्छरवृष्टिभिः ॥६-५४-२॥
sa visphārya dhanurghoraṃ śakrāśanisamasvanam |
vānarāṇāmanīkāni prākiraccharavṛṣṭibhiḥ ॥6-54-2॥
Translation
Stretching his terrifying bow, which resounded like Indra's thunderbolt, he scattered showers of arrows upon the monkey armies.

उसने इन्द्र के वज्र के समान भीषण टंकार करने वाले अपने भयानक धनुष को खींचकर वानरों की सेना पर बाणों की वर्षा कर दी।
English Commentary
Vajradamshtra's martial prowess is highlighted here. The twang of his bow is compared to the thunder of Indra's bolt (Shakra-ashani), emphasizing the terrifying sound and the power behind his weaponry. The metaphor of a 'rain of arrows' illustrates the density and speed of his attack, overwhelming the opposing forces. This marks the transition from general chaotic brawling to sophisticated warfare, posing a significant threat to the Vanara army which primarily relied on physical strength and primitive weapons like trees and stones.
