राक्षसाश्चापि मुख्यास्ते रथेषु समवस्थिताः ।
नानाप्रहरणाः शूराः प्रायुद्ध्यन्त तदा रणे ॥६-५४-३॥
rākṣasāścāpi mukhyāste ratheṣu samavasthitāḥ |
nānāpraharaṇāḥ śūrāḥ prāyudhyanta tadā raṇe ॥6-54-3॥
Translation
At that time, other leading Rakshasa warriors, stationed on chariots and armed with various weapons, also began to fight in the battle.

उस समय रथों पर सवार तथा अनेक प्रकार के शस्त्रों से सुसज्जित अन्य मुख्य शूरवीर राक्षस भी रणभूमि में युद्ध करने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse broadens the scope of the battle. It is not just Vajradamshtra fighting; his elite cadre of commanders joins the fray. The mention of chariots and diverse weaponry ('nana-praharana') underscores the technological and logistical superiority of the Rakshasa army compared to the forest-dwelling Vanaras. It depicts a full-scale mobilization of the enemy forces, creating a scenario of immense danger for the Vanara army, highlighting the sheer scale of resistance the forces of Dharma had to overcome.

केवल सेनापति ही नहीं, अपितु अन्य प्रमुख राक्षस योद्धा भी अपने रथों पर आरूढ़ होकर युद्ध में कूद पड़े। 'नानाप्रहरणाः' शब्द इंगित करता है कि वे विभिन्न प्रकार के घातक अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से लैस थे। रथों का उल्लेख यह बताता है कि राक्षसों के पास वानरों की तुलना में बेहतर सैन्य संसाधन और वाहन थे। यह श्लोक यह स्पष्ट करता है कि यह युद्ध केवल दो नायकों के बीच नहीं, बल्कि दो संगठित सेनाओं के बीच का एक व्यापक संघर्ष था, जहाँ अधर्म का पक्ष पूरी शक्ति और संसाधनों के साथ धर्म के पक्ष को कुचलने का प्रयास कर रहा था।
