तं दृष्ट्वा वज्रदंष्ट्रस्य विक्रमं प्लवगर्षभः ।
प्रगृह्य विपुलं शैलं चिक्षेप च ननाद च ॥६-५४-२२॥
pragṛhya vipulāṃ śailaṃ cikṣepa ca nanāda ca |
samāpatantaṃ taṃ dṛṣṭvā rathādāplutya vīryavān ॥6-54-22॥
Translation
...lifted a massive mountain peak (rock), hurled it, and roared. Seeing it approaching, the powerful Rakshasa leaped down from his chariot.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...एक विशाल पर्वत शिखर (शिला) को उठाकर फेंका और गर्जना की। उस शिला को आते देख वह वीर्यवान राक्षस रथ से कूद पड़ा।
English Commentary
Escalating the attack, Angada hurls a massive boulder. Unlike the tree, a rock is denser and harder to disintegrate with arrows. Vajradamshtra realizes the imminent danger. The physics of the battle force him to abandon his position of advantage. By leaping from the chariot ('rathad aplutya'), he survives but loses his mobile platform, bringing the fight to the ground—a terrain where Angada excels.
हिंदी टीका
वृक्ष के बाद अंगद ने उससे भी भारी और कठोर 'विपुलां शैलं' (विसाल चट्टान) का प्रयोग किया और साथ ही गर्जना की। शिला का वेग और भार इतना था कि वज्रदंष्ट्र को समझ आ गया कि इसे बाणों से काटा नहीं जा सकता। इसलिए, प्राण रक्षा के लिए उसे अपने रथ का मोह त्यागकर कूदना पड़ा। यह अंगद की पहली रणनीतिक विजय थी—शत्रु को उसके वाहन से वंचित करना।
