ततः परमतेजस्वी अङ्गदः कपिकुञ्जरः ।
उत्पाट्य वृक्षं स्थितवान् बहुपुष्पफलाञ्चितम् ॥६-५४-३०॥
utpāṭya vṛkṣaṃ sthitavān bahupuṣpaphalānvitam |
jagrāha cārṣabhaṃ carma khaḍgaṃ ca vipulaṃ śubham ॥6-54-30॥
Translation
...uprooted a tree full of flowers and fruits and stood ready. He (also) seized a shield made of bull's hide and a massive, auspicious sword.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...फूलों और फलों से लदे हुए एक वृक्ष को उखाड़कर वे खड़े हो गए। (दूसरी ओर) उन्होंने (वज्रदंष्ट्र की) बैल की खाल से बनी ढाल और विशाल चमचमाते खड्ग (तलवार) को छीन लिया।
English Commentary
Angada creates a composite offense. He uproots a tree, staying true to his Vanara nature, but also equips himself with conventional weapons—a sword and a shield made of bull hide ('arshabham charma'). Acquiring these likely from the battlefield or the opponent himself signifies a turning point. Angada is now armed with both nature's blunt force and the sharp precision of a sword.

यहाँ घटनाक्रम तेजी से बदलता है। अंगद ने पहले एक वृक्ष उखाड़ा, जो उनका स्वाभाविक हथियार है। परन्तु, अगले ही क्षण उन्होंने एक महत्वपूर्ण रणनीतिक चाल चली—शत्रु का खड्ग और ढाल ('आर्षभं चर्म') छीन लिया। संभवतः हाथापाई के दौरान वज्रदंष्ट्र के हथियार गिर गए होंगे या अंगद ने छीन लिए। अब अंगद के पास वृक्ष भी था और शत्रु की तलवार भी। यह उनकी विजय की ओर बढ़ता हुआ कदम था।
