तत्रायुधसहस्राणि तस्मिन्नायोधने भृशम् ।
राक्षसाः कपिमुख्येषु पातयाञ्चक्रिरे तदा ॥६-५४-५॥
tatrāyudhasahasrāṇi tasminnāyodhane bhṛśam |
rākṣasāḥ kapimukhyeṣu pātayāṃcakrire tadā ॥6-54-5॥
Translation
In that battleground, the Rakshasas then hurled thousands of weapons violently upon the chiefs of the monkeys.

उस युद्धभूमि में तब राक्षसों ने वानर यूथपतियों पर हजारों शस्त्रों की भीषण वर्षा की।
English Commentary
The intensity of the conflict escalates as the Rakshasas target the leadership of the Vanara army ('kapimukhyeshu'). By raining thousands of weapons upon the commanders, the demons aimed to decapitate the organizational structure of their enemy. The adverb 'bhresham' (violently/excessively) emphasizes the ferocity of the assault. This verse illustrates the overwhelming odds faced by the devotees of Shri Rama, serving to magnify the heroism required to withstand such a barrage.

युद्ध की भीषणता यहाँ अपने चरम पर पहुँच रही है। राक्षसों का लक्ष्य साधारण वानर नहीं, अपितु 'कपिमुख्य' (वानर सेनापति) थे, क्योंकि नेतृत्व को समाप्त करने से सेना का मनोबल टूट जाता है। 'भृशम्' (अत्यधिक/जोर से) शब्द प्रहार की तीव्रता को बताता है। यह एक रणनीतिक आक्रमण था। यहाँ अधर्म पक्ष की आक्रामकता दिखाई देती है, जो संख्या बल और शस्त्र बल दोनों का प्रयोग कर वानर वीरों को दबाने का प्रयास कर रहे थे।
