द्रुमशैलप्रहरणा योद्धुं समवतिष्ठत ।
तेषां युद्धं महारौद्रं संजज्ञे हरिरक्षसाम् ॥६-५५-१५॥
drumaśailapraharaṇā yoddhuṃ samavatiṣṭhata |
teṣāṃ yuddhaṃ mahāraudraṃ saṃjajñe harirakṣasām ॥6-55-15॥
Translation
Then, with trees and rocks as their weapons, the Vanaras stood firm to fight. An extremely fierce and terrible battle broke out between those monkeys and Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वृक्षों और पर्वतों को शस्त्र के रूप में लिए हुए वानर युद्ध के लिए डट गए। उन वानरों और राक्षसों के बीच अत्यंत रौद्र (भयंकर) युद्ध छिड़ गया।
English Commentary
Despite their initial fear, the Vanaras regained their composure and stood ready for battle, reflecting their unwavering loyalty to Shri Rama. A 'Maha-Raudra' (fierce/terrible) battle implies a conflict where there is no room for mercy and destruction is the primary objective. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Great War.

भयभीत होने के उपरान्त भी वानरों ने अपना धैर्य पुनः प्राप्त किया और युद्ध के लिए तैयार हो गए। यह उनकी श्री राम के प्रति अटूट निष्ठा को दर्शाता है। 'महा-रौद्र' युद्ध का अर्थ है जहाँ दया का कोई स्थान न हो और केवल विनाश ही मुख्य लक्ष्य हो। यहाँ से महासंग्श्री राम का एक नया अध्याय आरम्भ होता है।
