हरयो राक्षसाश्चैव परस्परजिघांसवः ।
तेषां विनर्दतां शब्दः संयुगेऽतितरस्विनाम् ॥६-५५-१७॥
harayo rākṣasāścaiva parasparajighāṃsavaḥ |
teṣāṃ vinardatāṃ śabdaḥ saṃyuge'titarasvinām ॥6-55-17॥
Translation
A terrifying sound arose from those extremely swift Vanaras and Rakshasas who, desiring to slay each other, were roaring on the battlefield.

एक-दूसरे के वध की इच्छा रखने वाले उन अत्यंत वेगवान वानरों और राक्षसों का युद्धभूमि में गर्जना करते हुए भयंकर शब्द हुआ।
English Commentary
In the ferocity of war, 'Jighansa' (the desire to kill) becomes the dominant emotion. The roars of the warriors from both sides are a combined sound of their resolve and fury. The term 'Atitarasvinam' captures their great energy and speed, filling the battlefield with a terrifying clamor.

युद्ध की विभीषिका में 'जिघांसा' (वध की इच्छा) सर्वोपरि होती है। दोनों पक्षों के योद्धाओं का गर्जन उनके संकल्प और क्रोध का मिला-जुला स्वर है। 'अतितरस्विनाम्' शब्द उनकी महान ऊर्जा और गति को प्रकट करता है, जो रणभूमि को एक भयानक कोलाहल से भर देता है।
