श्रूयते तुमुले युद्धे न रूपाणि चकाशिरे ।
हरीनेव सुसंक्रुद्धा हरयो जघ्नुराहवे ॥६-५५-२२॥
śrūyate tumule yuddhe na rūpāṇi cakāśire |
harīneva susaṃkruddhā harayo jaghnurāhave ॥6-55-22॥
Translation
In that tumultuous battle, only sounds were heard while forms did not appear. Extremely enraged Vanaras began to strike Vanaras themselves (mistaking them for the enemy).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस तुमुल युद्ध में केवल ध्वनियाँ सुनाई दे रही थीं, रूप दिखाई नहीं दे रहे थे। अत्यंत क्रोधित वानर युद्ध में वानरों को ही (शत्रु मानकर) मारने लगे।
English Commentary
This is the most tragic aspect of the war's ferocity—the loss of identification. In the darkness of the dust, Vanaras began to strike their own comrades. This situation illustrates that when discernment and vision are lost, one's own power can become the cause of one's destruction. It is a portrayal of total anarchy.

यह युद्ध की विभीषिका का सबसे दुखद पक्ष है—पहचान का अभाव। धूल के अंधकार में वानर अपने ही साथियों पर प्रहार करने लगे। यह स्थिति दर्शाती है कि जब विवेक और दृष्टि लुप्त हो जाती है, तो अपनी ही शक्ति अपने विनाश का कारण बन जाती है। यह भीषण अराजकता का चित्रण है।
