एष जेष्यति काकुत्स्थौ सुग्रीवं च महाबलम् ।
वानरांश्चापरान् घोरान् हनिष्यति परंतपः ॥६-५५-४॥
eṣa jeṣyati kākutsthau sugrīvaṃ ca mahābalam |
vānarāṃścāparān ghorān haniṣyati paraṃtapaḥ ॥6-55-4॥
Translation
This scorcher of enemies will conquer both the scions of Kakutstha (Shri Rama and Lakshmana) and the mighty Sugriva; he will also slay the other formidable Vanaras.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शत्रुओं को संताप देने वाला यह अकम्पन दोनों ककुत्स्थवंशी राजकुमारों (श्री राम और लक्ष्मण) तथा महाबली सुग्रीव को जीत लेगा और अन्य भयंकर वानरों का वध करेगा।
English Commentary
Ravana's assertion illustrates his delusions of grandeur and overconfidence. He mistakenly believes Akampana's strength can surpass the divine brilliance of Shri Rama. The use of 'Kakutsthau' acknowledges the noble lineage of Shri Rama and Shri Lakshmana. Ravana's assumption that a Rakshasa could conquer them serves as evidence of his clouded judgment leading to his eventual downfall.

रावण का यह कथन उसके मिथ्या अभिमान और अति-आत्मविश्वास का परिचायक है। वह अकम्पन की शक्ति को श्री राम के दिव्य तेज से श्रेष्ठ मान रहा है। यहाँ 'काकुत्स्थौ' शब्द का प्रयोग श्री राम और श्री लक्ष्मण की महान वंशावली को सूचित करता है। रावण का यह अनुमान कि कोई राक्षस उन्हें जीत लेगा, उसकी बुद्धि के विनाश का प्रमाण है।
