तद्दृष्ट्वा सुमहत् कर्म कृतं वानरसत्तमैः ।
क्रोधमाहारयामास युधि तीव्रमकम्पनः ॥६-५६-१॥
taddṛṣṭvā sumahatkarma kṛtaṃ vānarasattamaiḥ |
krodhamāhārayāmāsa yudhi tīvramakampanaḥ ॥6-56-1॥
Translation
Seeing that great feat (destruction of the demon army) performed by the foremost of monkeys, Akampana assumed intense anger on the battlefield.

वानर श्रेष्ठों द्वारा किए गए उस महान कर्म (राक्षस सेना के संहार) को देखकर, अकम्पन ने युद्धभूमि में तीव्र क्रोध धारण किया।
English Commentary
This verse depicts the shifting tides of war. Akampana was a key general of Ravana. True to his name (meaning 'The Unshakable'), he was a steadfast warrior, yet witnessing the devastation of his army provoked intense rage. This indicates that the Vanara army was no longer just defensive but had become aggressively dominant, forcing the enemy commander to react with fury.

यहाँ युद्ध की परिवर्तनशील स्थितियों का वर्णन है। अकम्पन रावण का एक प्रमुख सेनापति था। अपने नाम के अनुरूप वह 'न कांपने वाला' (स्थिर) वीर था, किन्तु अपनी सेना की दुर्दशा देखकर उसका क्रोधित होना स्वाभाविक था। यह श्लोक दर्शाता है कि वानर सेना अब केवल रक्षात्मक नहीं थी, बल्कि आक्रामक होकर शत्रुओं पर भारी पड़ रही थी, जिसने शत्रु सेनापति को विचलित कर दिया।
