निर्याणश्रीश्च या ऽस्यासीद्भास्वरा वसुदुर्लभा ।
सा ननाश मुहूर्तेन समे च स्खलिता हयाः ॥६-५७-४१॥
niryāṇaśrīśca yāsyāsīdbhāsvarā vasudurlabhā |
sā nanāśa muhūrtena same ca skhalitā hayāḥ ॥6-57-41॥
Translation
The resplendent glory of his departure, which was rare on earth, vanished in a moment, and the horses stumbled even on level ground.

उसके प्रस्थान के समय जो चमकती हुई और पृथ्वी पर दुर्लभ 'श्री' (शोभा) थी, वह क्षण भर में नष्ट हो गई और समतल भूमि पर भी घोड़े लड़खड़ाने लगे।
English Commentary
The transition from glory to gloom is complete. The 'shri' (splendor) that accompanied his exit evaporates instantaneously. Horses stumbling on level ground ('same ca skhalita') is a classic literary device indicating that the very earth rejects the warrior's advance, or that the animals sense the encroaching death. It signifies the collapse of the mission before engagement.

प्रारंभिक उत्साह और भव्यता अब समाप्त हो चुकी थी। अपशकुनों ने प्रहस्त के तेज को हर लिया। घोड़ों का 'समतल भूमि' (same) पर लड़खड़ाना यह सिद्ध करता है कि बाधा भौतिक नहीं, बल्कि दैवीय या भाग्य-जनित थी। जब घोड़े बिना कारण ठोकर खाएं, तो यह माना जाता है कि वे आने वाली आपदा को देख रहे हैं। प्रहस्त की विलासिता और शक्ति का प्रदर्शन अब फीका पड़ गया था।
