प्रहस्तं त्वभिनिर्यान्तं प्रख्यातबलपौरुषम् ।
युधि नानाप्रहरणा कपिसेना ऽभ्यवर्तत ॥६-५७-४२॥
prahastaṃ tvabhiniryāntaṃ prakhyātabalapauruṣam |
yudhi nānāpraharaṇā kapisenābhyavartata ॥6-57-42॥
Translation
Seeing Prahasta, of renowned strength and valor, marching out, the monkey army, armed with various weapons, confronted him in battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
प्रख्यात बल और पौरुष वाले प्रहस्त को (युद्ध के लिए) निकलते देख, नाना प्रकार के प्रहार (हथियार) लिए हुए वानर सेना ने युद्ध में उसका सामना किया।
English Commentary
The narrative returns to the physical confrontation. Prahasta's reputation ('prakhyata-bala-paurusham') precedes him; he is not an unknown soldier but a legendary figure. The Vanara army does not cower as Ravana predicted; instead, they confront him head-on. The clash is imminent as the forces of Dharma intercept the advancing darkness.

अपशकुनों के बावजूद, प्रहस्त आगे बढ़ता है। वानर सेना, जो पहले से तैयार थी, उसका रास्ता रोकती है। प्रहस्त को 'प्रख्यातबलपौरुषम्' कहा गया है, जो स्वीकार करता है कि वह एक महान योद्धा था, चाहे उसका पक्ष गलत हो। वानर सेना 'नानाप्रहरणा' (विभिन्न हथियारों—वृक्ष, पत्थर आदि) से सुसज्जित होकर उसे घेरने ('अभ्यवर्तत') लगी।
