English Commentary
Ravana attempts to boost Prahasta's confidence while simultaneously underestimating the enemy. He characterizes the Vanara army as 'chapala' (fickle, restless, or unsteady), a stereotype for monkeys. He asserts that the mere sight of Prahasta's mobilization will be enough to scatter them. This reflects Ravana's hubris; he believes victory will be psychological and swift, failing to recognize the disciplined resolve instilled in the Vanaras by Lord Shri Rama.

रावण यहाँ प्रहस्त का उत्साहवर्धन कर रहा है और साथ ही शत्रु को कम आँक रहा है। वह वानरों को 'चपला' (चंचल/अस्थिर) कहता है, जिसका अर्थ है कि उनमें धैर्य और अनुशासन की कमी है। रावण का मानना है कि प्रहस्त जैसे महायोद्धा के रणभूमि में उतरने ('प्रस्थान') मात्र से वानर भयभीत हो जाएंगे। यह रावण का अहंकार है जो उसे शत्रु की वास्तविक शक्ति—श्री राम के नेतृत्व और वानरों की भक्ति—को देखने से रोक रहा है।
