वानरा राक्षसाः क्रुद्धा वीरमार्गमनुव्रताः ।
विवृत्तनयनाः क्रूराश्चक्रुः कर्माण्यभीतवत् ॥६-५८-१८॥
vānarā rākṣasāḥ kruddhā vīramārgamanuvratāḥ |
vivṛtanayanāḥ krūrāścakruḥ karmāṇyabhītavat ॥6-58-18॥
Translation
Devoted to the path of heroes, the enraged Vanaras and Rakshasas, with wide-open eyes and fierce looks, performed deeds of valor fearlessly.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वीरता के मार्ग पर चलने वाले, क्रोधित, बड़ी-बड़ी आँखों वाले और क्रूर वानर तथा राक्षस निर्भय होकर पराक्रम दिखाने लगे।
English Commentary
Warriors on both sides follow the 'Viramarga' (path of heroes), which means never turning one's back. 'Vivritanayanah' (wide-eyed) shows their resolve and focus. Here, ferocity is presented as a necessary attribute of war where fear has been discarded.
हिंदी टीका
दोनों ओर के योद्धा 'वीरमार्ग' का पालन कर रहे हैं, जिसका अर्थ है पीठ न दिखाना। 'विवृतनयनाः' उनके संकल्प और एकाग्रता को दर्शाता है। यहाँ क्रूरता को युद्ध के आवश्यक गुण के रूप में दिखाया गया है जहाँ भय का कोई स्थान नहीं है।
