दुर्मुखः पुनरुत्थाय कपिः स विपुलद्रुमम् ।
राक्षसं क्षिप्रहस्तस्तु समुन्नतमपोथयत् ॥६-५८-२१॥
durmukhaḥ punarutpāṭya kapiḥ sa vipuladrumam |
rākṣasaṃ kṣiprahastastu samunnatamapothayat ॥6-58-21॥
Translation
Then the monkey named Durmukha, having uprooted a massive tree, crushed the quick-handed Rakshasa named Samunnata.
हिंदी अनुवाद
फिर दुर्मुख नामक वानर ने एक विशाल वृक्ष उखाड़कर, शीघ्रता से हाथ चलाने वाले राक्षस समुन्नत को मार गिराया।
English Commentary
Durmukha's prowess is seen in his uprooting of a 'Vipuladruma' (massive tree). Slaying a 'Kshiprahasta' (quick-handed) Rakshasa like Samunnata shows that the speed and strength of the Vanaras are more effective than the tactics of the demons. This proves their superiority in individual combat.

दुर्मुख का पराक्रम यहाँ 'विपुलद्रुम' (विशाल वृक्ष) उखाड़ने में दिखता है। समुन्नत जैसे 'क्षिप्रहस्त' (तेज हाथ वाले) राक्षस को मारना यह दर्शाता है कि वानरों की गति और शक्ति राक्षसों की चालों से अधिक प्रभावी है। यह द्वन्द्व युद्ध की श्रेष्ठता को सिद्ध करता है।
