Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अमृष्यमाणस्तत्कर्म प्रहस्तो रथमास्थितः ।
चकार कदनं घोरं धनुष्पाणिर्वनौकसाम् ॥६-५८-२४॥
amṛṣyamāṇastatkarma prahasta rathamāsthitaḥ |
cakāra kadanaṃ ghoraṃ dhanuṣpāṇirvanaukasām ॥6-58-24॥
Translation
Unable to bear that deed (of his ministers being slain), Prahasta, mounted on his chariot with bow in hand, began a terrible slaughter of the forest-dwellers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपने मन्त्रियों के वध को सहन न कर पाने के कारण, हाथ में धनुष लिए हुए रथ पर सवार प्रहस्त ने वानरों का भयंकर संहार करना आरम्भ किया।
English Commentary
Seeing the fall of his ministers, Prahasta himself is filled with rage. Being on a chariot gives him the advantage of height and mobility. Armed with a bow, he begins to tear apart the Vanara army from a distance. This is the manifestation of a commander's retribution.
हिंदी टीका
मन्त्रियों का पतन देखकर प्रहस्त स्वयं क्रोध में भर गया। उसका रथ पर होना उसे ऊँचाई और गति का लाभ दे रहा है। 'धनुष्पाणि' होकर वह दूर से ही वानर सेना को छिन्न-भिन्न कर रहा है। यह एक सेनापति के प्रतिशोध का रूप है।
