सा मही रुधिरौघेण प्रच्छन्ना सम्प्रकाशते ।
सञ्छन्ना माधवे मासि पलाशैरिव पुष्पितैः ॥६-५८-२८॥
sā mahī rudhiraugheṇa pracchannā saṃprakāśate |
sañchannā mādhave māsi palāśaīriva puṣpitaīḥ ॥6-58-28॥
Translation
Covered by the flow of blood, that earth appeared as if it were covered with flowering Palasha trees in the month of Madhava (spring).
हिंदी अनुवाद
रक्त के प्रवाह से ढकी हुई वह पृथ्वी वैसी ही लग रही थी जैसे वसंत (वैशाख) के महीने में फूलों से लदे हुए पलाश के वृक्षों से ढकी हुई हो।
English Commentary
Sage Valmiki compares the blood-soaked ground to red Palasha flowers. This is an extraordinary poetic metaphor that finds a terrifying beauty even in the horror of war. The color red here symbolizes both the slaughter and the cycles of nature.

वाल्मीकि जी ने यहाँ रक्त रंजित भूमि की तुलना लाल पलाश के फूलों से की है। यह एक अद्भुत काव्य उपमा है जो युद्ध की विभीषिका में भी एक भयानक सौन्दर्य को देखती है। लाल रंग यहाँ संहार और प्रकृति के चक्र दोनों का प्रतीक है।
