राघवस्य वचः श्रुत्वा प्रत्युवाच विभीषणः ॥६-५८-३॥
rāghavasya vacaḥ śrutvā pratyuvāca vibhīṣaṇaḥ |
eṣa senāpatistasya prahasto nāma rākṣasaḥ ॥6-58-3॥
Translation
Hearing the words of the scion of Raghu, Vibhishana replied— This is the commander-in-chief of Ravana, a Rakshasa named Prahasta.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री रघुनाथ जी के वचनों को सुनकर विभीषण ने उत्तर दिया— यह उस रावण का सेनापति है, जिसका नाम प्रहस्त है।
English Commentary
Vibhishana identifies Prahasta as Ravana's commander-in-chief. Prahasta is Ravana's most trusted minister and the primary operator of his military. His entry into the battlefield signals that Ravana is now staking his most powerful warriors. Vibhishana's response is concise and factual, providing the identity Shri Rama sought.
