एष सेनापतिस्तस्य प्रहस्तो नाम राक्षसः ।
लङ्कायां राक्षसेन्द्रस्य त्रिभागबलसंवृतः ।
वीर्यवानस्त्रविच्छूरः प्रख्यातश्च पराक्रमे ॥६-५८-४॥
laṅkāyāṃ rākṣasendrasya tribhāgabalarasṃvṛtaḥ |
vīryavānastravicchūraḥ prakhyātaśca parākrame ॥6-58-4॥
Translation
In Lanka, he commands a third of the total forces of Ravana. He is valiant, an expert in missiles, heroic, and renowned for his prowess.

लंका में राक्षसराज रावण की कुल सेना के तीसरे भाग के साथ यह चलता है। यह पराक्रमी है, अस्त्र-विद्या का ज्ञाता है, शूरवीर है और अपने पुरुषार्थ के लिए प्रसिद्ध है।
English Commentary
The extent of Prahasta's power can be gauged by the fact that he commands a third of Lanka's vast military. Vibhishana describes him as an expert in missiles and famous for his valor. This serves to alert Shri Rama that they are facing an exceedingly experienced and powerful general.
हिंदी टीका
प्रहस्त की शक्ति का अनुमान इसी से लगाया जा सकता है कि लंका की विशाल सेना का एक तिहाई हिस्सा केवल उसके अधीन है। विभीषण उसके गुणों का वर्णन 'अस्त्रवित्' और 'पराव्रफमे प्रख्यात' कहकर करते हैं। यह श्री राम को सचेत करने के लिए है कि सामना एक अत्यंत अनुभवी और शक्तिशाली सेनापति से है।
