ततः सृजन्तं बाणौघान् प्रहस्तं स्यन्दने स्थितम् ।
ददर्श तरसा नीलो विनिघ्नन्तं प्लवङ्गमान् ॥६-५८-३४॥
tataḥ sṛjantaṃ bāṇaughān prahastaṃ syandane sthitam |
dadarśa tarasā nīlo vinighnantaṃ plavaṅgamān ॥6-58-34॥
Translation
Then, the Vanara commander Nila beheld Prahasta, who, stationed on his chariot, was discharging volleys of arrows and slaughtering the monkeys.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब रथ पर बैठे हुए और बाणों की वर्षा करते हुए प्रहस्त को वानर सेनापति नील ने देखा, जो वानरों का संहार कर रहा था।
English Commentary
The primary duel begins now. Nila observes that Prahasta has become a personification of death for his army. It is a commander's duty to face the enemy's main warrior for the protection of his troops. Nila's spotting of Prahasta signals the decisive turn in the battle.

अब मुख्य द्वन्द्व का आरम्भ होता है। नील ने देखा कि प्रहस्त उनकी सेना के लिए काल बन गया है। एक सेनापति का धर्म है कि वह अपनी सेना की रक्षा के लिए शत्रु के मुख्य योद्धा का सामना करे। नील का प्रहस्त को देखना युद्ध के निर्णायक मोड़ की सूचना है।
