पपात सहसा भूमौ छिन्नमूल इव द्रुमः ।
प्रभिन्नशिरसस्तस्य बहु सुस्राव शोणितम् ॥६-५८-५६॥
papāta sahasā bhūmāu chinnamūla iva drumaḥ |
prabhinnaśirastasya bahu susrāva śoṇitam ॥6-58-56॥
Translation
He suddenly fell to the ground like a tree cut at its root. From his shattered head, a vast amount of blood flowed out.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह अचानक भूमि पर जड़ से कटे हुए वृक्ष के समान गिर पड़ा। उसके फटे हुए सिर से बहुत अधिक रक्त बहने लगा।
English Commentary
The metaphor of a tree cut at the root signifies that Prahasta's influence has ended forever. The flowing of his blood is the end of the carnage he himself initiated. This visual was extremely terrifying and discouraging for the Rakshasa army.
हिंदी टीका
जड़ से कटे वृक्ष की उपमा यह दर्शाती है कि प्रहस्त का प्रभाव अब सदा के लिए समाप्त हो गया है। उसका रक्त बहना युद्ध की उस विभीषिका का अंत है जो उसने आरम्भ की थी। यह दृश्य राक्षसी सेना के लिए अत्यंत डरावना और हतोत्साहित करने वाला था।
