यो वज्रपाताशनिसन्निपातान्न चुक्षुभे नापि चचाल राजा ।
स रामबाणाभिहतो भृशार्तश्चचाल चापं च मुमोच वीरः ॥६-५९-१३९॥
yo vajrapātāśanisannipātānna cukṣubhe nāpi cacāla rājā |
sa rāmabāṇābhihato bhṛśārtaścacāla cāpaṃ ca mumoca vīraḥ ॥6-59-139॥
Translation
The King who was neither disturbed nor shaken by the fall of thunderbolts and lightning, that hero, struck by Shri Rama's arrow, was greatly pained, staggered, and let go of his bow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो राजा (रावण) वज्रपात और बिजली गिरने से भी न तो क्षुब्ध होता था और न हिलता था, वह वीर श्री राम के बाण से आहत होकर बहुत पीड़ित हुआ, लड़खड़ा गया और (उसके हाथ से) धनुष छूट गया।
English Commentary
Ravana's invulnerability is shattered. The verse establishes his toughness—he could withstand thunderbolts—only to highlight that Shri Rama's power is superior to even nature's fiercest forces. Staggering and dropping the bow signifies that Ravana is physically and mentally broken.
हिंदी टीका
रावण की सहनशक्ति अद्वितीय थी, लेकिन श्री राम का बाण उससे भी ऊपर था। जिसे वज्र नहीं हिला सका, उसे श्री राम के एक बाण ने हिला दिया ('चचाल')। हाथ से धनुष छूटना एक योद्धा की पूर्ण पराजय का संकेत है।
