यो ऽसौ रथस्थो मृगराजकेतुर्धून्वन् धनुः शक्रधनुःप्रकाशम् ।
करीव भात्युग्रविवृत्तदंष्ट्रः स इन्द्रजिन्नाम वरप्रधानः ॥६-५९-१५॥
yo'sau rathastho mṛgarājaketurdhūnvan dhanuḥ śakradhanuḥprakāśam |
karīva bhātyugravivṛttadaṃṣṭraḥ sa indrajinnāma varapradhānaḥ ॥6-59-15॥
Translation
He who stands on a chariot with a lion-ensign, brandishing a bow shining like Indra's bow (rainbow), and who appears like an elephant with protruding tusks—he is Indrajit, the foremost among those granted boons.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो वह रथ पर स्थित है, जिसकी ध्वजा पर सिंह का चिन्ह है, जो इन्द्रधनुष के समान प्रकाशमान धनुष को हिला रहा है और जो बाहर निकली हुई दाढ़ों वाले हाथी के समान सुशोभित हो रहा है, वह वरदान प्राप्त वीरों में प्रधान 'इन्द्रजीत' है।
English Commentary
This introduces Ravana's most powerful son, Meghanada (Indrajit). He is called 'Varapradhana' because he obtained numerous boons from Lord Brahma. The lion ('Mrigaraja') on his banner symbolizes his regal status and aggression. Vibhishana specifically points him out as he represents the greatest threat to Shri Rama's army.

यह रावण के सबसे शक्तिशाली पुत्र मेघनाद (इन्द्रजीत) का परिचय है। उसे 'वरप्रधान' कहा गया है क्योंकि उसने ब्रह्मा जी से अनेक वरदान प्राप्त किए थे। उसकी ध्वजा पर 'मृगराज' (सिंह) का चिन्ह उसके राजा-समान रुतबे और आक्रामकता का प्रतीक है। विभीषण विशेष रूप से उसे इंगित करते हैं क्योंकि वह श्री राम की सेना के लिए सबसे बड़ा खतरा है।
