गत्वा ऽथ रक्षोधिपतेः शशंसुः सेनापतिं पावकसूनुशस्तम् ।
तच्चापि तेषां वचनं निशम्य रक्षोधिपः क्रोधवशं जगाम ॥६-५९-२॥
gatvātha rakṣo'dhipateḥ śaśaṃsuḥ senāpatiṃ pāvakasūnuśastam |
taccāpi teṣāṃ vacanaṃ niśamya rakṣo'dhipaḥ krodhavaśaṃ jagāma ॥6-59-2॥
Translation
Then, having gone there, they reported to the King of Demons that the commander had been killed by the son of Fire (Nila). Hearing those words of theirs, the Lord of Demons fell under the sway of anger.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, (सैनिकों ने) जाकर राक्षसराज रावण को अग्निपुत्र (नील) द्वारा सेनापति के मारे जाने का समाचार दिया। उनके उस वचन को सुनकर राक्षसराज क्रोध के वशीभूत हो गया।
English Commentary
This verse describes Ravana's reaction. Nila is referred to as 'Pavakasunu' (Son of Fire), emphasizing his divine origin. Ravana, who had relied on his generals, is overcome with rage upon hearing of Prahasta's death. This anger is a mix of wounded pride and the shock of losing his most trusted warrior, propelling him to take command personally.

यहाँ रावण की प्रतिक्रिया का वर्णन है। नील को 'पावकसूनु' (अग्निपुत्र) कहा गया है, जो उनके दैवीय मूल को दर्शाता है। रावण, जो अब तक अपने सेनापतियों पर निर्भर था, प्रहस्त जैसे महारथी की मृत्यु का समाचार सुनकर विचलित और क्रोधित हो उठता है। यह क्रोध उसके अहंकार और अपने सबसे भरोसेमंद योद्धा को खोने की पीड़ा का मिश्रण है।
