देवदानववीराणां वपुर्नैवंविधं भवेत् ।
यादृशं राक्षसेन्द्रस्य वपुरेतत् प्रकाशते ॥६-५९-२८॥
devadānavavīrāṇāṃ vapurnaivaṃvidhaṃ bhavet |
yādṛśaṃ rākṣasendrasya vapuretatprakāśate ॥6-59-28॥
Translation
The bodies of even the heroes among Devas and Danavas would not be like this, as the body of this King of Rakshasas shines.
हिंदी अनुवाद
देवताओं और दानव वीरों का भी शरीर ऐसा (तेजस्वी) नहीं होगा, जैसा इस राक्षसेन्द्र का शरीर प्रकाशित हो रहा है।
English Commentary
Shri Rama declares Ravana's physical splendor to be superior even to that of the gods and demons. This highlights Ravana's uniqueness. Valmiki establishes here that Shri Rama's opponent is not a common demon, but one of the finest warriors in the three worlds.

श्रीश्री राम रावण के शारीरिक सौष्ठव और कांति को देवताओं और दानवों से भी श्रेष्ठ बताते हैं। यह रावण के व्यक्तित्व की विशिष्टता है। वाल्मीकि जी यहाँ यह स्थापित कर रहे हैं कि श्री राम का प्रतिद्वंद्वी कोई साधारण असुर नहीं, बल्कि तीनों लोकों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ योद्धाओं में से एक है।
