स तं गृहीत्वा ऽनिलतुल्यवेगं सविस्फुलिङ्गज्वलनप्रकाशम् ।
बाणं महेन्द्राशनितुल्यवेगं चिक्षेप सुग्रीववधाय रुष्टः ॥६-५९-३९॥
sa taṃ gṛhītvānilatulyavegaṃ savisphuliṅgajvalanaprakāśam |
bāṇaṃ mahendrāśanitulyavegaṃ cikṣepa sugrīvavadhāya ruṣṭaḥ ॥6-59-39॥
Translation
Taking that arrow which had the speed of wind, shining like fire with sparks, and possessing the speed of Indra's thunderbolt, the enraged Ravana hurled it for the killing of Sugriva.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वायु के समान वेग वाले, चिंगारियों युक्त अग्नि के समान प्रकाशमान और इन्द्र के वज्र के समान वेगवान उस बाण को लेकर, क्रुद्ध रावण ने सुग्रीव के वध के लिए छोड़ा।
English Commentary
Ravana's rage is indicated by the word 'rushtah'. The speed and brightness of the arrow mark it as a lethal weapon. Ravana's intent is not just to injure, but to 'kill' (vadha) Sugriva.

रावण का क्रोध 'रुष्टः' शब्द से प्रकट होता है। बाण की गति और चमक उसे एक घातक हथियार बनाती है। रावण का उद्देश्य सुग्रीव को केवल घायल करना नहीं, बल्कि उसका 'वध' करना है।
